You are 100% correct. The media are more interested in hyperbole and wild headlines not serious in-depth discussions on policy, if they tried that with Trump he'd fall apart. He can hardly put a coherent sentence together or stay on subject.

Plus, of course, their owners are probably leaning on the reporters to go easy on him.

Unfortunately, until your system gets rid of the ridiculous Electoral College, it is always going to be an uphill struggle for the left to get actual power.
