When I lived and worked in Thailand, where what they call "Ladies of the 3rd Gender" are prevalent in many bars, shops and are mainstream accepted, I went with the attitude that if they wanted to be a woman, then I would treat them as a woman.
I just accepted a few as friends and had affairs with some. I would act as gentlemanly with them as I would with any woman. Not sure if some feminist women like that treatment, but I get equality and diversity all round.
Basic fairness is my way of looking at life in general.
