We did the one car thing about 3 years ago and I still hunker after getting another just for me. I've been doing some trading and selling off stuff to raise funds lately and want a large van, that way I can gradually kit it out as a camper ready to fuck off when the creditors come looking!

However, our 20 year old Toyota Yaris auto, comes with a sunroof, is probably the most economic car to run that I ever had, and even has some oooomph at times, even though we're now on 120,000 miles. I've been done for speeding in it a few times over the years and even got a ton+ out of it on the highway north. The new models come as hybrids and have all the bells & whistles and the dealers are offering them at really low price monthly payments at times. We paid £1100 for this as a used car with 30k on the clock about 10 years back and it's cost virtually nothing since.
