True Love

I love you my Phaedra, do you know what that means?
I gave you the option at the very beginning,
If you remember I said are you sure
For the age difference is immense
You said, “No matter, it’s up to me to decide,”
I asked are you sure, are you a sapiosexual?

Only interested in my heart,
My metaphysical soul to embrace you from afar.
How we have kept that going for one year while apart
I have no idea, we talk, for short spells,
I still know nothing about you much,

I loved you when your dog departed,
Your Mum was so nauseated,
I hung onto your fears,
Have I proven my love to you, dear?

I only found out the other day
That your brother was unwell,
Yet I still know nothing near
Nothing clear
Nothing to enliven my fears

My biggest doubts and malign
That happens to con me or swindle
Make my doubts a dodge or a fiddle
Enough, stop those thoughts of a sting,
I know from your voice it is not a scam
Based on romance
To ridicule.
