Trapped By My Loss of Freedom of Movement as The UK Descends into Chaos and Fascism
As my country slides into authoritarianism under the English National or UKIP Party government that pretends to be the Conservative Party, we are becoming prisoners of the lunacy of nationalist politicians. The weekend brought traffic queues unseen before with holidaymakers and truck drivers alike because of a direct consequence of changes to passport controls under the new Brexit rules.
The main airport for London, Heathrow is in complete chaos each day, with flights canceled due to a lack of staff, most of whom have not returned after Covid or left to go back to Europe.
The whole country is bemoaning the lack of staff, yet the companies stick with their low pay and the right shout that the welfare safety net does not encourage them back to work. In other words, they want to starve people into taking underpaid work. We are back in the days of the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists of the 1920s, which many in the Tory party want us to be. They have sold off most of our state-owned assets to their wealthy sponsors and now insist on the poor to keep them in power.
Yet the rabid right-wing newspapers such as The Daily Mail and Express rage at the French as if the delays at the port of Dover were their fault.
