Transgender people were pretty rare in the UK for me until I was taken to a gay club in London's Soho in the 80's where many of the waitresses were young, gorgeous trans. I was fascinated by their beauty, but like so many CIS guys my pal and I were sort of 'scared' of them at first, but then we got to know a few and realised that was what they wanted to be and they were lovely people, but they were still forced into the sex industry.
Later when I started working overseas and ended up living in Pattaya, Thailand where they are known as "Ladies of the 3rd Gender" or just "Tomboys" but collectively as Khatoeys and quite openly working in shops, stores, cabaret, bars alongside CIS women. I also used to have a drink with a Tomboy copywatch seller and his gf, that it just became a natural part of life. After many years I even had a few as lovers and wondered if I was even Bi myself, but I realised I am not, I just found that people are what they want to be, Love is Love no matter who and Beauty is also from many things.
Relax and accept is now my way.
