To Understand Me

Byron George
2 min readMay 25, 2021

To understand me, Baby,

You have to know me,

My culture comes hard-fought,

From the East of London

We belong,

We might live outside now,

But we are many,

We identify,

With one team,

West Ham is the club,

Of our dreams,

We worship the bubbles,

The song,

Even the colors,

It’s where we are from.

I’ve not known passion like this,

Apart from love, my bliss,

Amazing I know my love,

But to know me,

You must know my team.

I worshipped your picture,

Before the game,

YOU were my good luck charm,

I want you so badly,

I cannot let you go,

I want you to know.

This passion is akin,

To where you are from,

A Latin love,

Only you would know,
