The workers were a tool of the billionaire news Barons and much funded by Russian money. They profit from shorting the currency and elsewhere through their hedge funds. They avoid the tax clampdown on their offshore funds that the EU has regulated against.

As always, it's the rich that gets the pleasure and the poor what gets the blame.
