After the excitement of our cruise back from the Miami book signings we settled back at home for a couple of months. We did take part in a few weekend jaunts to show off our customized Citroen Named Michelle by Sandra and because of the wonderful wrap of the hood with the outlandish Rolling Stone’s logo, we got plenty of attention wherever we went. I was keen to show her off at the hangouts of the Stone’s fans in the City so got familiar with a few guys at Mustang Harry’s Bar at 352 Seventh Avenue, between 29th and 30th Streets in Manhattan.
Mustang Harry’s has what is reputed to be one of the longest bars in New York City and Stone’s fans have been meeting up there for years, along with another bar named Walters where some undercover groups meet occasionally. I hadn’t realized there were so many fans in NYC until I started out on this voyage of discovery. I believe there are more regular meeting places here than in London. I had eaten in Bill Wyman’s Tex Mex restaurant, Sticky Fingers in London before with one of my clients from the U.S. who had asked to go there particularly, so maybe I should have guessed there would be the fan base here.
We had waited until the weather was good to drive with the top down, décapitable or cabriolet style, to parade Michelle and it was with a little reluctance that we accepted an offer of $100,000 for our beautiful Citroen.
