The likes of Piers Morgan and the usual tabloid villains just see her as a way of making themselves money, by stirring the innate racism of the right and imperialists, along with the Brexit nationalists.

I admire the fact that Meghan & Harry are modern thinking and can make their own way as celebrities rather than royalty, an institution much like other more mental institutions. Although I am not a monarchist I can see the unwarranted vitriol sent her way. I suspect that it also might be the fact that she is an independent, American in outlook and she was not brought up to treat the others in a deferential manner than all the other royals.

The 'establishment' here in the UK expects us all to still doff our caps & tug our forelocks to our betters, and that probably included her, which she rightly fought against.

I just wonder what reaction they'd have had if she was really black, now that would really have set the tongues wagging wouldn't it. It just shows what a small-minded island we are.
