That is so very interesting, and I note the more judgemental western viewpoint being applied in the other comments.

Often cultural practices from so-called savages bring out the messianical wannabe missionaries from our own culture. I'd love to use that in one of my novels in future somehow.

I have seen other rituals of longevity in Taoist meditations where transmutation of the male sperm is done by a few women where they bring the male to a height and then expertly let him down before, not allowing any release and my main characters have adopted that practice in my "Dream Team Series." I use it more for an intro to commune with nature and bees and swallows to pass messages in a form of telepathy along ley lines. That, used gently hopefully keeps the reader thinking,"can that really happen?"

Sex of some sort or other is a powerful sensation to be used in many cultural rituals, why condemn it with a narrow western mindset? It is only thought that condemns, it is why things like polyamory are becoming more prevalent in our society as people experiment with their natural inclinations. We are an animal species after all.
