A nice piece, confirming what I do mostly.

I visualise my characters, I see where they are, I look back in my memory bank and even smell the places again. It is a constant movie in my head as I write.

It is me, it is what I do and I don't care, only that it should be enough for others to want to read it.

The rest is imagination taking the real things further I get the story out from deep down inside.

Editors have to 'get' my characters and situations, the rest is just grammar.

For my novels, I write first then go back 3 times, re-read, tighten up, then submit.

When the editing comes back I read again, change some, then read again. When I'm sick of it, I publish and be damned.
