Rules and Rulers

Stuck With One Picture

One picture I’m allowed,

The rules state.

Always hated rules,

No matter who lords them,

Or lawds them over all.

Rules are for bullies,

Rules are for control,

Rules are a nightmare,

I hate you rule makers,

You play with my love.

You play with my lover,

Rules, rules, rules they the bane

Of my life,

I have one picture,

One sketch,

To hang my emotional life,

On, to create my own

Adjectival

Intellectual

Recount,

When I need to see,

To touch to feel.

Rules are bad,

Rules are hateful,

Kill the rules,

How can I write, describe,

My love, my wants, my wishes,

When all I have are rules.

Kill the rulers,

Of the rules.

One picture, it hurts,

One sketch it smarts.

The voice is cool,

The song was cooler,

No need for the ruler,

So happy, then,

Stirring the flames

Of the regions.

So, fight, fight, fight, the rules.

Kill the rulers!
