As a previous post informed me on here this is a month to appreciate people with Down Syndrome. I recently published this article for a client of mine on www.greathealthwatch.net and felt that I’d pay tribute to them also.
Down Syndrome & Families
Whilst researching for this article I was intrigued and enamoured at the positivity of any, or indeed all of the families with a Down Syndrome child. The one common denominator of them all was the amount of love between them. I don’t think that I have ever come across a more loving group of parents and children on any other subject. In the ‘Huffington Post’ on-line there is a great article on this same subject whereby 55 Families in the USA are interviewed. Every single parent is positive about the experience of having a baby with Down Syndrome. The overall impression is that the parents get as much benefit from their children than that they give to their offspring.
Down’s people are born with a slight defect in that they have an additional chromosome which affects things like physical growth and intellectual ability along with a distinctive appearance which for many years gave them the rather disparaging name of Mongol.
