Just Lie Is The UK Government Minister’s Responses
The war in Ukraine has just shown the UK government up for its mealy-mouthed response to accepting refugees. After their whole election campaign was built on the Brexit anti-immigrant rhetoric they now find themselves floundering on media interviews and on questions in Parliament.
The Home Secretary, the misnamed “Priti” Patel stated in full view in parliament that reports stating that the response to handling visas as on social media criticizing them was “misinformation.” That was a blatant lie because we had, at that time, only let in or processed 50 visas for Ukrainian refugees since the conflict started.
Prime Minister Johnson stated that the UK is leading the world in its response to allowing refugees in, another lie in parliament and on the media when Poland has some million-plus crossed the border.
Deputy Prime Minister Raab states that the refugees prefer to go to the countries such as Poland and Moldova because they are nearer. Where is their humanity?
It seems that the government standard policy when being asked an awkward question is to lie first to get the publicity for their right-wing media supporters on the basis that if you tell a lie often enough your erstwhile supporters will believe it as fact.
