I think that you hit the nail on the head with one word there "Ownership" is the problem for us all. I used to think that way but no longer. My experiences during my travels has loosened me up and I no longer seek to possess my partner, but our problem is that we have been together too long and she is too into the old conventional marriage. People do not expect to have one partner for life these days and I admire anyone who can come to terms with that and not allow Jealousy, the old green-eyed-monster to interfere.

We have to overcome the cultural upbringing and accept that to be open can be just as wholesome as a traditional partnership. You were not at fault, you were honest, but even if you had that baby you would still have had so many battles with the conventional thought police in society.
