I kind of agree with that, having been a player for a part of my life when I travelled to many countries where the opposite sex was easily available. However, I always strived to have a care for the woman I was with, whether for a relationship or a more animalistic and wild moment. I learnt much during that period of my life and am still great friends with most of those former partners and know that if our paths cross we would still spend great times together and not only for old time’s sake.

What that period of my life did do though was to make me easy with women. Easy with the pick-up, easy with the company, easy with the romantic dinner or weekend away. Surely that is half the battle? The understanding of the partner’s needs wants and desires, that leads to the casual love and friendship that has no commitment but is enjoyable. That is what I call being an adult about a sexual relationship, it can be ‘no strings’ or for a longer term.

The constant travel for work made the typical ‘girl in every port’ a very real occurrence. Some of those had other partners, some did not but for whatever reason, they are in different countries and could not be a constant companion, but we all have needs that must be fulfilled. The trick of making those visits a must to work is to make that coupling a delight.
