I also have grown to hate my country. I came back here after working overseas for many years and could not believe how far behind we'd become with regards to the soft, liberal, accepting people we used to be. When I used to point out that UKIP was nothing more than the BNP with fancy rhetoric, I was told to shut up, they were patriotic and I was a traitor.

Then they were all brainwashed with the language of Facebook during the referendum, calling us all snowflakes, to suck it up, we lost etc.

Still, the usual right-wing press fan the flames. We have a way to go yet and like so many others, I don't think we should wait for the General Election. The local government elections results could scare them into more voter suppression or even finding an excuse to not hold a GE.

Along with a General Strike, we should start embracing our inner Europeanness and riot like the French.
