I agree, and there are those who agree partly with them, don't see the dangers ahead, and think the other side is too soft when they turn the other cheek so want what they perceive a s a 'strongman'.

I've just been reading about the sons of William The Conqueror and how they treated their various dominion's people. Then fought amongst themselves for the spoils. Complete and utter barbarism for land and almost anything of value. When the population heard of their coming, they'd run to the woods and hide out, but be rooted out and all their possessions taken to market. Plundered in a form of taxation then shared out to other strong nobles who would fight for them.

Those that fought against had their eyes put out as examples, the rest slaughtered.

One day we'll become less & less in hock to mad leaders and the meek will inherit the earth. It is though a constant battle.
