Ha ha Sam you glutton for punishment! But I envy you.
I did a few visits to Tagaytay and stayed at a quite organic farm with accommodation and event hall for a Yoga Retreat. It was amazing, the air up there is so different to Makati, that's for sure.
The last time I was there pre-pandemic we went up to Baguio for a week on the night bus and on the return we were booked in to a 5 star big hotel in Makati. We couldn't check in early morning so we took a room at a dump near the bus station just to get some shuteye after the sleepless bus journey. I've slept in rough joints all over the world but that was so noisy from traffic that it was hopeless. We should have gone to the booked hotel and just slept in the reception chairs until the room could be made ready for that was soundproofed lovely! Oh well, live and learn.
Did you ever get up to Baguio, it is definitely worth a trip and we also went down off the mountain to L'Onion where we hoped to buy a plot on the coast.
Unfortunately funding wouldn't stretch that far and our plans to start our own retreat there didn't work out. But give me half a chance I'd be back tomorrow.
Fate has a way of intervening though and it looks like New York could be my next place for a temprary home.
Just waiting for the right funds again, lol.
Thanksfor the tips on visas also Sam, but I'm potless until I get a book deal.
I'm sure we may even catch up one day.
