If they had got in, kidnapped or took hostages, and the crazies had won, he would have happily returned Yeltsin like, or Hitler like, in triumph. But they weren't successful so he just slinks away and takes the criticism, knowing they haven't got enough on him, but all those stupid followers like that poor lady will probably get banged up and become a martyr for him. Those masked with the zip ties and pipe bombs will probably get away because they really were planning and were clever enough to hide their id's.
He will never go away, even when out of office, he'll carry on fomenting them, raising money from the fools at rallies and even his supporters will be on social media, if he can't, stirring, lying, making false claims, will eventually bring another election or doubt where he or his son can take up the fascist mantle again.
There is no doubt he hoped that they would get in and stop or change the election result, but they didn't, so he gets to fight another day, destabilising, stirring again.
His threats and money already has half the GOP hating anyone with a different opinion aka Democrats or democrats. He knows that without voter suppression his hard right agenda can't survive in future and the more he creates havoc and conspiracy he'll have the following of half those Senators & Congressman of the GOP to blindly follow him over the abyss.
Anybody who has voted for him either in this election or in 2016 who didn't know that this would happen one day is a fool or willing accomplices turning a blind eye to these inevitable consequences. From his birther conspiracies about Obama he's shown his true colours, and many others have gone along with it because much of his policies helped them, those like Rupert Murdoch, who stayed with him until he saw a threat in competition for his own business. He's done it before, he's also a Trump enabler, but to a point, he doesn't want full on fascism, he's just protecting his own wealth and power. Trump does want full on fascism, in his own name.
