And after WW2 was over we voted him out as soon as possible. In one of the first examples of mail in voting, where the election took place on July 5, 1945.

Ballots weren’t counted until July 26, to allow votes from soldiers and residents of Britain’s far-flung overseas empire to arrive by mail.

Then the brilliant Clement Attlee's Socialist government was elected, the first Labour Party Government that brought us many benefits and which the Tories have been trying to dismantle ever since.

Perhaps we all need enemies like Hitler or Putin to kick the populace into voting for a similar progressive social reform program to transform the future of British society?

For every action a reaction as they say.
