Although Corbyn had some good policies, his pacifism would never appeal to the electorate, that and being wildly eviscerated by the right wing press did for him. His anti EU views did not help.

Brexit has proved to be an utter disaster economically. Until the UK gets a proper proportional voting system it will always be ravaged by the extremes of right and left. Being in the EU gave many of us a feeling of civilised ways, continental cafe culture and studies of languages, with some schools and colleges using the more sensible Baccalaureat we became more culturally inclusive. Since Brexit any of that is now called "Woke" and the rabid nationalists have taken over.
