All of these results of leaving the EU were predicted and shouted on high by us pro-Europeans, and when I used to argue with those who favoured leaving and just told them the benefits spouted by Leave.UK etc. were all lies, I was told that both sides lied, so what!

It is the age old excuse when the normally right supporters compare at election times, it is an excuse, "they all lie," it justifies their natural inclinations.

Even now when confronted by facts and figures the usual villains of the ERG will not admit they are wrong.

It all comes down to their nationalism, which they don't see in the same way as the rest of us. I was recently told by one ardent Brexiter that we need more nationalism, not less. You can see the way they think, they can't see the difference between Nationalism & Patriotism and from that stems by natural progression, Fascism.

The old quote "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" fits all of those politicians you name Ade, and you could probably include Thatcher, but at least she was pragmatic enough, coming from a business minded family, to see the economic benefits of being in the EU.
