A great piece, I am from the UK and we are going through similar "culture wars" at the moment, provoked by the right wing of the Brexiteers and government of Blow Job Johnson. As we say in the UK America sneezes and Britain catches a cold.

That is why I always watch the USA trends. I have lost long time old friends in the last year, at 72 I'm called a "Woke, Loony, Liberal Lefty!" FFS as social media says. The same guy called the opposition Labour Party "Cervix Deniers!" Where do they find these prejudices?

When they quote these out of fear responses, I just ask, "Do they hurt you physically?" To which there is always a "No but" answer, then I stop listening and laugh in their faces.
