21 to 22 and Onward

Byron George
2 min readJan 6, 2022

21 to 22 I’m dedicating to you
You gave me renewed ambition
The will to make new creations
To believe in my emotions
Despite my downhill slide
I knew I had to abide
By the directions
You gave me and the love you showed.

Now 22 is the year we make it my dear
I’ll beg, steal and borrow more
To get to your door
We’ll get our dreams to come true
The sales galore
Our duets musical
In words and song
When 34+35 comes along
We’ll have those kids for which you long
For I’m different you see
It’s why I must leave
My world in this land overseas.

When I’m feeling in doubt
Of my talents, you shout
You drive me onwards
To the new world where you live
Where I can be myself
And not be put down by those negative
That ridicule my genres and art
Those so blind
to my need to be unconventional
maybe disgraceful
at times controversial.
But for you, I’ll be gentle
And kinder than you know.
